Immersive innovation for selection and training
Selexi has launched an innovative Virtual Reality (VR) service to revolutionize public and private selection procedures, as well as candidate training. This cutting-edge service aims to improve effectiveness, efficiency and transparency of selection and training processes, in complete safety and using the immersive potential of VR. The integration of Virtual Reality in competitions allows the creation of simulated test environments, where candidates can perform practical tests in a highly realistic context.

On November 6, 2024, in addition to the traditional theoretical part with multiple choice questions, starting from a clinical-health case, students completed a technical-practical test conducted entirely in Virtual Reality (VR).
116 students experienced this innovative evaluation method with immersive and realistic simulations, overcoming the limitations of traditional tests.
Following the success of the initial session, on April 3, 2025, a new nursing examination was held at our Milan test center. 36 candidates participated in the evaluation process, once again combining theoretical knowledge and practical skills in a completely immersive VR environment.
VR-based assessment allowed students to tackle complex and realistic clinical scenarios, improving their critical thinking and decision-making under pressure. By simulating real situations, this approach continues to bridge the gap between academic preparation and professional practice.
The implementation of VR in nursing exams not only ensures a more comprehensive evaluation of student competencies, but also reflects a growing commitment to innovation in healthcare training.
Within a pilot project conducted at the Faculty of Medicine of Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU), Virtual Reality (VR) was tested as an innovative tool to support practical training.
The initiative involved 56 second- and third-year students enrolled in the Bachelor’s degree program in Medicine and Health Sciences, who were asked to practice the procedure for inserting a nasogastric tube within an immersive environment.
The experimentation made it possible to assess the effectiveness of VR both as a tool for practical learning in a completely safe setting and as a means of evaluating the correct application of standardized clinical protocols, while also fostering the development of transversal skills such as decision-making readiness, stress management, and problem-solving abilities.
The results of the pilot project showed a high level of student engagement and a clear improvement in the repeatability and traceability of performance, paving the way for a broader integration of VR into the Faculty’s academic curriculum.
